World Skills Day 2024

World Youth Skills Day, observed globally on July 15th each year, is a significant event that emphasizes the importance of equipping young people with essential skills for employment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development. This day highlights the pivotal role of skills development in empowering youth to effectively tackle present and future challenges.

This year’s theme “ Skills for Peace and Development” correlates with YOWPSUD’s core focus of empowering youth and women through diverse skills training initiatives.

Recognizing the significance of self-reliance, YOWPSUD supports youth and Women access diverse vocational training programs ,digital skills and to become positive social change agents in their communities promoting Peace and Development. Our programs are crafted to impart practical skills necessary for securing jobs and in establishing entrepreneurial ventures. As a result of this support, YOWPSUD contributes to reducing unemployment and promoting economic independence, fostering socio-economic advancement within coastal communities. Over the past four years, more than 390 youth have benefited from YOWPSUD's economic empowerment and peacebuilding programs.
