REQUEST FOR QUOTATION FOR SUPPLY OF ITEMS FOR FLOOD RECOVERY EFFORTS IN KILIFI COUNTY.
Youth and women for Peace and Sustainable Development (YOWPSUD), is a non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting governance, development, and social justice in Kenya. YOWPSUD's mission is to empower women and youth to play active roles in social, economic and governance spheres, with a focus on achieving peace and sustainable development in alignment with Kenya's Vision 2030 blueprint, SDGs, and the 2010 Constitution.
YOWPSUD is currently implementing the Accelerated Response in Violent extremism-ARIVE in Kilifi County, dubbed Pamoja initiative! Building Resilience of Youth Against Violent Extremism in Kilifi County funded by Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund-(GCERF) through Act Change Transform (Act!). In responding to the aftermath of the flooding crisis, we are administering a comprehensive humanitarian and capacity-building intervention in Garashi Location, Magarini Sub-County, with the aim of restoring livelihoods and enhancing community resilience. To facilitate this support, YOWPSUD is requesting quotations to supply food items in the target location.
B. PREPARATION OF PROPOSAL
1. COST
The Offeror shall bear any, and all costs related to the preparation and/or submission of the Proposal, regardless of whether its Proposal was selected or not. YOWPSUD shall in no case be responsible for liable for those costs, regardless of the conduct or outcome of the procurement process.
2. LANGUAGE
The request for proposal, as well as all related correspondence exchanged by the offeror and YOWPSUD, shall be written in English.
3. CURRENCIES
All prices of proposal shall be quoted in the currency of Kenya Shillings only.
4. PERIOD OF VALIDITY
The Proposal shall remain valid for sixty (60) days, commencing on the submission deadline date.
In exceptional circumstances, prior to the expiration of the proposal validity period, YOWPSUD may request offeror to extend the period of validity of their proposal. The request and the responses shall be made in writing.
5. CLARIFICATION OF PROPOSAL
A prospective offeror requiring any clarification of the solicitation documents may notify YOWPSUD in writing to the organization’s email address Procurement@yowpsud.org YOWPSUD will respond in writing to any request for clarification of the solicitation documents that it receives earlier than two weeks prior to the deadline for the submission of proposals.
6. DOCUMENTS COMPRISING THE PROPOSAL
The proposal from supplier shall comprise the following components:
(a) Detailed quotation with specifications, and pricing.
(b) Picture of sample items

Background: Kilifi County has recently been hit by devastating floods caused by heavy rainfall, which is attributed to the El Nino phenomenon. The floods have resulted in the loss of lives, disrupted livelihoods, and destroyed property, farms, and infrastructure in the sub-counties of Magarini, Kilifi South, Malindi, and Ganze. The situation is expected to worsen due to climate change, which poses a significant threat to the community's livelihoods.
Response Strategy: YOWPSUD is leading a comprehensive humanitarian response and capacity-building intervention to help vulnerable communities recover and regain control of their lives and livelihoods. The focus is on restoring livelihoods and enhancing capacities, particularly in Garashi Location, Magarini Sub-County.
