YOWPSUD Strengthens Community Stability Through Peacebuilding and Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration

YOWPSUD continues to advance community resilience and sustainable peace through its participation in initiatives that strengthen community stability and prevent and counter violent extremism (PCVE).

YOWPSUD was represented by Robinson Jambo Chivila (Taylor Torch), Peace and Security Portfolio Lead and Training and Capacity Building Working Group Lead under the CEF supporting the implementation of Kenya’s National Strategy to Counter Violent Extremism (NSPCVE), at the Community Stability Workshop convened by the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) Kenya.

The workshop provided an opportunity to explore how community-led initiatives, multi-stakeholder collaboration, and strengthened local capacities can contribute to peaceful, cohesive, and resilient communities. For YOWPSUD, these approaches reinforce the importance of engaging government institutions, civil society organisations, community leaders, women, and young people in addressing the underlying factors that threaten peace and stability.

Taylor brought an artistic perspective to the discussions, highlighting the role of music and creative expression in promoting social cohesion, bridging divisions, fostering dialogue, and preventing violent extremism. His contribution reflects YOWPSUD’s commitment to leveraging art and innovation as tools for peacebuilding and positive social change.

The workshop also aligns with the objectives of Mwanamke Imara, YOWPSUD’s initiative strengthening women’s leadership and participation in peace and security. By empowering women within formal and informal security and justice structures, the project supports inclusive approaches to conflict prevention, early warning, response, and community resilience.

The insights gained will strengthen YOWPSUD’s capacity to facilitate community-focused learning and promote collaborative initiatives that translate peacebuilding strategies into practical local action.
